Core Aspects

Flight time and Battery System: The average time the drone can fly up in the sky on a single charge is one of the most important factors to be considered. Even most of the advanced drones fail to offer longer flying time and thus fails to attract the drone addicts.

Luckily that is not the case here with Syma X11. The little bird can fly for 5 to 7 minutes once fully charged and that is definitely very much satisfying for a small sized drone. Being both removable and rechargeable, you can have more flying time with the 200mAh Li-Po battery by easily swapping batteries.

The charging of the batteries is also made hassle-free. The unit comes with charger as well as USB cable and takes nearly 30 minutes. The light indicator clearly indicates when the charging is done so that you will not face any overcharging hazards.

Remote control and range of control

The remote control of Syma X11 is a simple and neat and most importantly has a good grip to hold. It has all the necessary buttons and joysticks and no fancy gimmicks. If you are used to playing video games, then using the Syma controller becomes easy for you naturally! It has got a middle power button and the two joysticks for different flight movements like left/right, forward/backward, up and down and the two d-pads for easy trimming.

All in all, even a beginner can easily control the drone using this remote control for up to a range of 40 meters.

Motor system

One of the major aspects that have brought more stars to the Syma X11 from its satisfied customers is the quadcopter’s durability. When we talk about a quadcopter’s durability it is not the broken propellers that you need to concerned about but the unit’s motor system. Syma’s geared motor system has its own advantages.

You rarely get to see geared motors any other drones. The geared motors provide more stability to the quad and that is going to be of great help while performing 360-degree flips. Yes! you get 360-degree spin functionality in this small drone and believe me, it is going to be great fun!

Price

Now, how much to spend on a drone is purely depends on your level of interest in drone and most importantly your budget constraints. But if you are planning for Syma X11, the price is the last thing you need to be concerned about. The ready-to-fly quadcopter is rightly priced and comes within $30. Money wise, Syma is undoubtedly a great drone for beginners that is durable, easy to fly and offers descent flight time.

Some of the interesting features of Syma X11 are;

LED lights

The Syma 11 does not feature headless mode. So every time you set the drone to the sky for flying, you need to be well aware of its orientation, or in other words, you need to be knowing which is the quad’s head and which is its tail. If you get confused you may not be able to control the flight movements easily and the whole drone flying becomes a lot more chaotic.

Imagine yourself in a situation where you try to save the quad from hitting the wall and press back the joystick for backward movement of the drone but the quad is actually facing the opposite side and by moving backward it hits the wall. So unfortunate is it not. That is the whole concept of headless mode where you need not have to bother about the drone’s head and tail.

Though headless mode is not available in the Syma X11, to compensate that, it offers colorful LED lights. The LED lights not only add up to the elegant look of the unit but also solve the whole orientation problem. The LED lights are very useful during night time flying also.

2 flight modes

Syma X11 offers two different flight modes – beginner and expert mode. To set the modes, push the button on the top left of the remote controller. You get to hear a single beep and the beginner mode will get set. Upon pushing the same button, you will hear two beeps and the drone will be set to the mode 2 i.e., expert mode.

However, please note that in the expert mode, the drone flies faster. So, if you are a beginner, try flying the drone first in the mode 1. Once you get expertise and have the confidence of controlling the drone easily, switch to the expert mode. After all, it is better to be safe than sorry right?!

2.4GHz Spread Spectrum Technology Controller

This Syma quadcopter works on 2.4 GHz frequency and thus offers interference-free operation. An interesting factor is that more than one Syma X11 can be controlled at the same time around the same area. Is it not fun to watch your kids enjoying their drone race together?!

But make sure that every controller and drone is linked separately. Here are the easy procedures to follow to link the bird with its controller.

To begin with, connect the charged batteries to the drone and place it on a leveled surface. Press the power button that is in the middle of the remote controller. LED lights of the drone will start blinking. Now push the left stick of the controller up to the top of its range and then push it down. If this is done right, you get to hear a beep sound and the LED lights on the drone stops flashing. That is when the drone and the controller are linked. Following the same steps link every drone and controller pair, you will be able to fly more than one Syma X11 around the same area at the same time.
